P2 Syllabus Update

Hi All, The P2 (Flight Fundamentals Course) syllabus has been updated in line with the recently changed P4. The CTS reports have been adjusted to include each lesson as an item to be marked, as opposed to the old method where each item on the report was criteria to be marked for each lesson. P2 Course Update

Evening all, As many of you are aware the PTD offers training for the P2 (Flight Fundamentals) Rating, up until this point, we have used the C172SP as the training aircraft for this rating. After collaboration between mentors and instructors, students will now be able to use the C152, C172 and PA28 (non-complex) for training. The aircraft specific theory will remain based upon the C172 until further documentation for other aircraft has been made and approved. Currently studying for you

P1 PPL(A) Goes Live!!! The Training Department has been working hard over the past few months to develop our P1 PPL(A) course which aligns with the new VATSIM network-wide ratings. Moodle Theory Exam Changes

Hi all! In light of .net's recommendations with our recent Pilot Training audit, there have been some changes made to the Moodle theory exams. For both the P1 PPL(A) and P2 SEIR(A) courses, the three and two exams respectively have been concatenated to one exam with the same question weighting. The changes are as follows: P1 PPL(A) Three exams -> One exam Pass mark 75% -> 70% Total questions 60 -> 40 Total time 90 minutes -> 60 minutes

Modernising and Updating the P1 PPL(A)

Hi all! Dale Stainrod will be stepping down from his role as VFR Flight Instructor. Dale joined the team in April 2022 and has done an amazing job of managing the P1 PPL(A) course in that time. There have been 5 rating upgrades for the P1 and Dale has conducted 32 P1 sessions and 9 P1_MEN sessions. Additionally, he has overseen the initial development of the P1 course revamp.
