staff-up [29th July 1800-2000z] Friday Night LARS Action - Boscombe Zone

Hello again, everyone! This week, I will be opening Boscombe Zone, which provides LARS within 30 NM of Boscombe Down (EGDM). Come and fly! Bring your Hawker Hunter, or even something a bit slower but equally as sporty! We may staff extra airfields in the area, but this will be confirmed during the day tomorrow.

• Aerodromes: Boscombe Down (EGDM)
• Date and Time: 29th July 1800-2000z
• Staffed positions: Boscombe Zone (EGDM_APP)
• Requests or Extra Info: As mentioned, anyone is welcome to staff up adjacent units!
  • There are many airfields in the vicinity of Boscombe, such as Thruxton (EGHO), Netheravon (EGDN), Upavon (EGDJ) and Old Sarum (EGLS) - now disused in real life but still open in the sim!
  • Farnborough Radar would be a welcome addition, as would Yeovil, Bristol, Bournemouth or even Brize.
  • For those flying, a nice flight could be Henstridge (EGHS) or Compton Abbas (EGHA), to Blackbushe (EGLK) or Wycombe Air Park (EGTB), as routings will take you straight through the LARS coverage, as well as the Boscombe/Wallop MATZs.

  • There are a few Danger Areas North of Boscombe (D123, D125, D126 and D128) and one to the Southeast (D127) which are active permanently. You can request a Danger Area Activity Information Service (DAAIS, pronounced “day-es”) and Danger Area Crossing Service (DACS) from Boscombe Zone, or enter at your own risk!
