Following Nathaniel's resignation, we begin the recruitment process for a new Heathrow TGI.

The role
The Training Department is responsible for developing and implementing training schemes for the award of VATSIM controller ratings. We are looking for someone to join our existing team to help us continue to deliver high quality training and a great standard of Heathrow controllers.

Role Description

  • Have overall responsibility for training within the Heathrow TG;
  • Select and train new mentors;
  • Maintain training standards in their designated group Organise group seminars as appropriate;
  • Issue Heathrow special endorsements;
  • Issue training places to students;
  • Are the point of contact for mentors within the Heathrow TG;
  • Collaborate with the Operations department to develop and review ATC procedures and documentation where appropriate;
  • Maintain eLearning courses and other student and mentor resources associated with the Heathrow TG.

About you
You must:

  • Hold an S3 rating;
  • Have experience mentoring within the division;
  • Be a home member of VATSIM UK;
  • Be a member in good standing.
  • Have a passion for the network and are committed to improving the experience of the network for the members of our division.

A preferred candidate will:

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have experience motivating and leading a team towards a common goal;
  • Have excellent knowledge of UK Generic and Heathrow Specific ATC Procedures

Time Commitment
The successful candidate should expect to commit 5-10 hours to the role most weeks.
