Following completion of a brand new moodle course, I am pleased to announce that training for Shanwick Oceanic has been refreshed and split into two segments:

• Self study/theory phase, including an online moodle course and theory exam (pass mark 90%), followed by;
• Practical training. There is no specific practical assessment for Shanwick training, mentors will issue the endorsement once competency is achieved.

Shanwick Oceanic training is available to home and visiting members of VATSIM UK with a C1 (or above) permanent controller rating. Visitors must also comply with the VATSIM Transfer and Visiting Controller Policy.

Note: visiting controllers must control for at least least one session (of minimum length one hour) on Shanwick or Gander in the last 3 years to retain visiting rights. 

Home and exisiting visiting members wishing to undertake Shanwick Training should open a ticket to ATC Training in the helpdesk.
