[Vacancy] Operations Director
This is notification of the beginning of the application process for the position of Operations Director
Application Closing Date 18 21 November 2021
The Operations Director shall:
- sit on the Division Staff Group
- have responsibility for the maintenance of and publishing of the UK Sector File together with supporting volunteer members with training and guidance.
- have responsibility for the maintenance of and curation of the UK Controller Pack.
- maintain an overview of documentation changes, their review and publication in collaboration with volunteer members where appropriate.
- have responsibility for the management ATC services during periods of high demand (such as key events) including development of ad-hoc procedures (such as flow-control measures).
- inform relevant parties of changes to procedures and errata as required.
- negotiate as required cross-border procedures with appropriate controlling authorities.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Planning and organisational skills with an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Skills which lead to good communication and teamwork
- Motivation to excel in the role
- Knowledge of and experience with managing small teams of volunteers in both formal roles and in an informal setting
The Successful candidate must:
- Be a VATSIM UK Division member in good standing
- Have the availability to answer emails and tickets on a regular basis and spend at least 7 hours per week on the role
