The appointment of Sean Reedman as the DCRM of the UK Division has now concluded.

Phillip Speer has accepted my invitation to take this role.

Sean has been a participant in running the division for a significant amount of time (circa 10 years) and has contributed many thousands of volunteer hours including as the division director. This has undoubtably shaped the division and contributed to our success in this time. We thank him for these contributions.

Phillip will be taking the next days to get up to speed with this role and the procedures necessary.

Chris.

Phillip, you have some big boots to fill! Congrats on your appointment.

Sean, saying "second to none efforts" wouldn't come close to justifying the amount of time you have put into the division over the last decade. Thank you and good luck in your future ventures!

Splendid choice in @Phillip Speer, a most level headed fella and we know that the stationery will be well cared for in his experienced hands ?

As for @Sean Reedman, he had more than 10 years as an Important Person in this Division. He was Staff when I joined 16 years ago. Who could forget his infamous BBQ in June 2005 when the whole of Chelveston disappeared under a cloud of dense black smoke? (We have aerial photos as proof).  He will be missed.

Thanks for your kind comments and I wish Phil every success in the role - there comes a time when change is needed and a different view and now is that time.

Hopefully I may now get time to fly a bit more and enjoy Vatsim for what it is or more big BBQ  fires ?

I have enjoyed my time in the role , always dealt with people fairly and based on clear evidence and also tried to guide anyone referred to me down the right route so they don’t return.

In such large networks there will always be people who don’t get on , this is the same in the workplace so my message is , be tolerant , be professional and inclusive even with those that frustrate as there are some things you can’t change , enjoy the hobby and always think before you speak , write or broadcast on the network.

I will be around if anyone needs help or advice  regarding the CRM process via email.

Thanks once again for the kind words

Thanks everyone for the wishes.  Sean has been around as DCRM pretty much my whole VATSIM life so will be strange to stand in his shoes.  'i hope to be up to speed reasonably quickly and hopefully I don't have to speak to any of you as it means everythings running smootly.  I can ony echo Sean's advise at this stage about thinking before you speak/act.
Thanks Sean for all your years of volunteering and working for the division.

Phillip
