Dear All,

Applications for the position of General Manager - Pilot Training are now open. Below is a summary of the responsibilities and requirements of the role:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees day-to-day and administrative operations on behalf of the Training Director;
  • Is the point of contact for Pilot Training staff on administrative issues;
  • Where requested, assists the Training Director and Flight Instructors (FIs) in the development of documentation;
  • Administrates visiting students where appropriate;
  • Administrates any part of Pilot training which does not fall under the responsibility of the appropriate FI;
  • Has responsibility for the compliance of examinations, conducted on behalf of the Cheif Flight Instructor of the VATSIM UK ATO;
  • Administrates departmental examinations;
  • Covers other roles in the department as necessary (e.g. for holidays/illness etc.).

The candidate must:

  • Have experience mentoring within the division (ATC or Pilot);
  • Be a home member of VATSIM UK in good standing;
  • Hold a P1 rating;
  • Has a general awareness and understanding of all Pilot ratings; 
  • Able to commit a minimum of 7 hours per week to the role.

It is not a requirement to hold all Pilot ratings (P1-5).

The successful candidate will receive training and support on how to use our systems.
