P2 Syllabus Update

Hi All, The P2 (Flight Fundamentals Course) syllabus has been updated in line with the recently changed P4. The CTS reports have been adjusted to include each lesson as an item to be marked, as opposed to the old method where each item on the report was criteria to be marked for each lesson. After each lesson is completed general comments about the lesson and information the mentor wishes to provide to the student will be posted in that lesson on the mentoring report. The mentor will t

P2 Course Update

Evening all, As many of you are aware the PTD offers training for the P2 (Flight Fundamentals) Rating, up until this point, we have used the C172SP as the training aircraft for this rating. After collaboration between mentors and instructors, students will now be able to use the C152, C172 and PA28 (non-complex) for training. The aircraft specific theory will remain based upon the C172 until further documentation for other aircraft has been made and approved. Currently studying for you

Modernising and Updating the P1 PPL(A)

Background ✈️ Our P1 PPL(A) course was released on 18 September 2020 and the course has remained largely unchanged since release, besides a few clarifications on lessons and shifting a lesson or two around. In that time, we have produced 11 P1 ratings and have conducted 270 mentoring sessions (as of 23 February 2023). However, recent discussions have highlighted the need for some major changes to the P1 course. Why is change necessary? 🔍 The Waiting List It is well known that

IFR Flight Instructor

Hi All, Unfortunately, @Fraser Cooper is no longer able to commit his time to managing the P4 course. With the rapid expansion of the New Controller process, Fraser has approached me and explained that he does not have the time to manage both and feels that it would be the best decision to step down and allow someone to continue leading the course. I would like to express my thanks to Fraser for his help during the development of the course and managing the course over the past six mon
