2025-06-16 - vRAF Kings Birthday Flypast and Restrictions in the LTMA

Effective: 16th June 2025 1830-1925z

vRAF will be conducting the Kings Birthday Flypast on the evening of Monday 16th June 2025. It will consist of 9 aircraft, targeting Buckingham Palace at 1900z for the first aircraft.

9 temporary restricted areas will be established during the flypast.

Between 1830 and 1900z the above temporary restricted areas A-D will be active. No aircraft are permitted to enter these areas, except Police aircraft, Emergency Medical aircraft, Coastguard aircraft or aircraft arriving or departing Norwich (EGSH) under control of ATC.

Between 1850 and 1925z the above temporary restricted areas F-I will be active. No aircraft are permitted to enter these areas, except Police aircraft, Emergency Medical aircraft, Coastguard aircraft or aircraft arriving or departing Heathrow (EGLL), London City (EGLC), Northolt (EGWU) or Battersea Heliport (EGLW) under control of ATC. From 1905z to 1915z, a stop on London City arrivals/departures should be put in effect by controllers to prevent any conflicts and the airspace getting overloaded.

In order to reduce the impact on Heathrows operations, vRAF will be taking a different exit route to the real assets, as shown below.
