EGPF/CC/LL are all special in EuroScope... During testing, we found that most airfields only give the plugin METAR updates if theyโ€™re active, but LL/PF/CC seem to do it regardless. We have no idea why sorry.

    QW 787 TCAS problem

lol yeah , to be honest i only had the tags on so QW can see what i mean about the missing targets other wise you wont know they should be shown on the ND . Thanks for the replies i hope they can fix this .. .. talking to two Vatsim inbounds both using the 787 , one had the same thing while the other said they showed fine so no idea what the issue is .

atc-training S1s disconnecting with no coordination

I'd like to add when S1s do "coordinate", but just say something along the lines of "bye" or "squawking cleared" and haven't kept SPads up to date but have aircraft moving, so you still have a busy frequency with no idea as to what anybody is doing.

Quite a good idea tbh, removes the ambiguity in my opinion. But then, real world RT is always a bit more 'loose' to accomodate a wide variety of scenarios.

I must say, I didn't look at the IFR section for this ๐Ÿ˜€

    event - fly-in vNATO flypast 2019

Hello Team VIRTUAL NATO (www.virtualnato.org) would like to invite YOU to a small event organised, the vNATO Flypast 2019 at the Royal International Air Tatoo 2019 by 19th, 20th, 21st of July 2019 at RAF Fairford EGVA. We are looking to do an event at EGVA RAF Fairford and I was told to get in touch here and with a military ATC controller to discuss the possibility to control the airport for this event as it may come multiple VSOAS. ATC required: preferably GND TWR APP The event in question is the RIAT 2019 NATO flypast 2019 at RAF Fairford on 19th, 20th and 21st of July 2019

The "at or below" is already in use for IFR traffic (section 6.9): Probably standardisation going on.

Hi Luke and others, Thanks for your feedback - I completely agree with you. An emphasise has been pushed out on this for PT2 sessions ๐Ÿ™‚

This thread also talked a lot about coordination when logging on/off positions. There are some good 'tips' in it for the newer controllers!

Does make sense. I can see the risk of the word "not" being garbled. Negative instructions are never a good thing, but I never thought of it that way before.

The last publication of CAP413 is from 2016 and even in it there is not a trace of "at or below".

atc-training S1s disconnecting with no coordination

I've had the same problems recently as well, and although it isn't as bad for TWR it's really frustrating when ground disappears and you suddenly have 10 aircraft all doing different things with no prior notification! I know other divisions do it but perhaps teaching the PRAWNS handover at an early (or recapping at all) stages would benefit us all!
  18. Hi all, I've not been near VATUK training for a long time so I've no idea what is being taught, however I've recently noticed a massive amount of S1s (literally the majority) disconnecting from ground positions with absolutely no coordination whatsoever. On a busy London frequency (and especially Bandbox!) it is so important for situational awareness. Even if you have no aircraft, I know you're online so the next aircraft I get I will chuck to you without checking, unless you've told me that you've already disconnected. It is annoying to say the least, especially when Gatwick just went leaving me with 11 departures and no coordination whatsoever. A quick ES PM is enough.

    atc-discussion New VFR Clearance Phraseology

Just a slight query related to the above: I was fortunate enough to partake in a weeks worth of work experience with NATS recently, and while at whitely on the ADC sims, I heard the following phraseology being used "G-ABCD, Cleared to enter controlled airspace via Route A, at or below altitude 2000 feet, QNH 1014." Upon asking one of the pseudo-pilots about the change, I was told it is "new phraseology" can anyone else confirm whether this is the case? Apparently, it was put in place after some confusion from pilots after receiving a "not above" clearance.

I have asked @Chris Pawley to include the updated ICAO_Airlines, airway, _Aircraft and _Airport text files from http://gng.aero-nav.com/ in the sector file and controller pack downloads in the past. This would update all callsigns to match the current version, add newer aircraft codes B78X, A35K etc as well.

    QW 787 TCAS problem

Does the QW have a TCAS filter? Sounds like a bug to me. But I don't know the limitations of the TCAS in the QW, it might not show as proximity traffic if its outside the scope of its search. Just looking at the QW manual, it will show a contact on the ND only if its "within six miles, and 1,200 feet vertically." That aircraft in the first picture is indicating 2145ft and you're at 3230(ish) ft, so it should show...

    QW 787 TCAS problem

That sounds like a proper program glitch? I mean...it can't be a selectable de-clutter setting- you really don't want TCAS to de-clutter stuff when you're right on top of it! And myabe I'm just old-fashioned...but isn't having floating red numbers in the sky giving a warning about traffic- even in cloud (especially in cloud)...a bit like cheating the grim reaper?

Unless there's been any recent callsign change similar to TCX and TOM, then it's Beeline. To change in ES, type .callsign Beeline and click on the BEL tag.
