Dear all,
On behalf of the Heathrow RTS, I am pleased to inform you all that we have successfully completed the Heathrow GMC Training Trial (LL GMC Trial). This trial has indeed made a huge impact on how the Heathrow RTS will deal with training requests in the future. Our primary focus is to reduce the amount of 'unnecessary' one-to-one mentoring sessions by delegating the responsibility of understanding the Heathrow theory to the student himself, through a self-study system.
I am therefore extremely happy to inform you all that as of Monday 28th November 2016 ALL Heathrow Ground students will have to complete a Heathrow GMC Moodle course. The Moodle course and exam is designed to teach you the theoretical requirement for the Heathrow Ground endorsement on VATSIM. Successful completion of the course is a prerequisite to mentoring, and an endorsement on Heathrow ground.
Taking the exam
- There is a 7 day wait between attempts.
- There is no time limit.
- Once you have passed, please submit a ticket the Heathrow RTS.
The process to gain a Heathrow Ground endorsement is:
- Complete the Moodle course.
- Pass the course exam.
- Submit a ticket to the helpdesk notifying the RTSM of your pass.
- Commence one-to-one practical training with a mentor to receive your endorsement.
