Changes in TG TWR

Good morning, all,

It is with much sadness that I announce that Will Hinshaw has left his role within TG TWR, effective immediately. Will has held post within the training group since June 2023 and has been subject to incredible pressure in that time. TG TWR is a very difficult place in which to work, subject to high training delays, a challenging teaching environment and significant drop-out rates as people bed into their VATSIM controlling careers. Will has made great progress in reducing the training time in TG TWR and I am wholly confident that the block training process he is implemented will continue to pay dividends in the Training Group.

I thank Will for his time in post and invite you all to join me in doing the same.

Thanks,
Adam

My time at TG TWR has certainly been a challenge but a rewarding experience, and I am proud of the significant progress made. It's been fantastic to see the enthusiasm from all members involved, especially our mentors. They truly are the backbone of this division and are significantly underrated. Without them, my role was useless. My extended gratitude to their collaboration and dedication for keeping the TG on the rails during the last year and a half. If you are still sitting on the fence about mentoring, please get in touch with the department - every session counts in helping those following in your footsteps.

To all those on the waiting list for TWR - I sincerely hope that the new training structure that I oversaw will make your training as comprehensive as possible, providing you the best opportunity to pass your S2 exam. Thank you for your patience whilst this was implemented and hopefully your position on the list will be falling quicker over the next 6-12 months. Trust me, the wait is worth it and you'll really enjoy the challenge TWR controlling brings. Good Luck!

Whilst I would have loved to continue to oversee the success of the TG - I must step aside. I have every confidence that my replacement will continue to move TG TWR in the right direction. I wish them the very best. I'll always hold the divison in high regard, but goodbye is always the hardest word to say when you've dedicated so much time to improving it for all, not just the few.

So long for now 👋
