CTS Phase 1 Preparation - Exitus acta probat!

Hi folks,

In preparation for CT, myself and the Web Services team will be in the next 3 weeks merging all Training RTSs into the 2 new Training Groups (TG1 and TG2). As a student you may begin to notice small cosmetic changes to the CTS, however you should still be able to request mentoring provided you are listed as an active student with a mentoring place. For those members who are not currently training or are currently in a waiting list for training you will most likely receive an email informing you that you have been removed from that respective RTS.

For those currently in a waiting list - REMAIN CALM - You will still retain your waiting list position and we will be utilising the CTS Waiting list function to manage seniority for the next TG training place. More on this in the next few weeks.

This process will begin starting with the dissolution of our dearly beloved Northern (EGCC, EGGP) and Essex (EGSS, EGGW) groups. These will be dissolved to form the new TG2. We hope to complete this by Sunday 15th January. 

Birmingham will be left over from Northern to be merged with SERTS (EGKK), SCONI (EGPH, EGPF), and SWRTS (EGGD) to form the new TG1. We hope to complete this by Monday 16th January.

All EGLC and EGNX (JP only) students will need to complete their current training by 31st July 2016, after which training will no longer be supported.

If you are an OBS rated member and have recently completed the Group OBS session and are awaiting your practical session(s) - this will now be completed inside the New Controller group on Gatwick which is what will be happening for all new entrants from now on. You should shortly be repositioned back into the New Controller group, if not request to transfer using the CTS Students menu.

I will shortly be announcing the new CT staff structure and some new appointments and role redeployments in due course.

Just to reiterate - you DO NOT need to do anything - those that are currently training will be imported into the correct TG - those that aren't training or are on a waiting list will be removed. You do not need to be in a RTS or TG to control a particular position in the UK if you already have the rating to control solo.

EDIT/Update - Mentors will not require to be in a TG to mentor there. You may be removed, but will still retain your permissions to mentor on your allocated positions.

Thanks for that and take your time me guys can't imagine it's a  easy task to do. But from me personally thank you for the time and effort efrort you people put in to running this system in your own free time

I have a tower training place but I've been removed from the Northern RTS. If I've read things correctly, should I not have been left in there so I can continue my tower training?

Thanks for the update. I have a tower session available however it is full. Does this mean I am still on the waiting list?

I believe that is a group session Jonny so yes you're still on the waiting list but may still attend group sessions / seminars in the meantime.

All - we've now taken all students for CC, GP, NT, NX, GW, SS and placed them into TG2.  This has led to Essex being removed as a Training Region.  Any issues relating to membership to those airfields can go to [email protected]

I may have missed a post about EGTT RTS but will it be renamed ETG (Enroute Training Group) or will EGTT RTS be removed and all members in it transferred to EGT?

All I know is that EGTT area will be merged with SCO Area, that's all.

That certainly gave me a fright :D However I cannot choose a new group. On the Choose home section of the RTS, it directs me to sign in, and then back to the starting page. Am I doing something wrong or do I just have to wait for it to allow me to change?

Matthew, please give the Web team some time, as the merging is still ongoing. :)

I've clarified my original post - Just to reiterate - you DO NOT need to do anything - those that are currently training will be imported into the correct TG - those that aren't training or are on a waiting list will be removed.

Hi

With being removed from all RTS which I was visiting and my home RTS, as I am not currently wanting training to progress to S3, am I still able to control in the Northern RTS??

You can control anywhere your rating allows - the removal from RTSs and moving to a TG is purely for where you will train.  There is no restriction on where you can control outside of any mentoring sessions.
