Operations Staff Changes

I have good and bad news to announce.

Starting with the bad, I regret to announce that @Thomas Mills has resigned as one of our Sector File Coordinators. Thomas was appointed at the same time as Luke as the first 2 sector file coordinators in November 2020. He has given us two whole years of work, 292 commits and just shy of 90,000 line changes on git. We are able to boast such a timely sector file release for most AIRACs in the year, thanks to Tom and Luke's hard work. Those of you that have contributed to the sector over the last year will have benefitted from his clear guides and keen eye for detail. For everyone else, you'll have benefitted from such a reliable update appearing in your ES profile that you can just click to use! Thank you for so much hard work.

Ending with the good, I am pleased to annouce that @Chad Byworth has agreed to return as an Operations Assistant. Chad left the Aerodrome coordinator role in 2022, after so many contributions to our documentation. He'll be working with me on various aerodrome projects. I will continue to cover the Aerodrome coordinator role.

Welcome back Chad!

It's been such fun working on the Sector File the past two years, and I'm extremely grateful to every contributor who helped make the Sector File what it is today - it couldn't have been done without you! Thank you also to fellow Coordinator @Luke Brown, who took on the bulk (/all) of the Controller Pack work and has kept it realistic, functional and up-to-date. Thanks also to everyone else in Ops who has provided me with patient advice and guidance in improving the Sector File, as well as reviewing PRs and making contributions. Even further thanks to @Andy Ford, who has put up with incessant questioning about the Compiler, which has made my job much easier.

I'm sorry to have to go, but I know the Sector File remains in good hands and look forward to seeing how it grows.

Tom

@Thomas Mills Thanks for the effort over the last 2 years - very much appreciated - thanks for your work in establishing several improvements for members who wish to contribute to our sector file. We now can validate every contribution before building the sector file - which is an important cross-check and improves our review process.

Good luck with your future prospects and thanks for your efforts within the division.

Chris.
