Hi all,
Following the launch of the S2 Moodle eLearning course in December, we’re very excited to announce the launch of our S3 Moodle eLearning course!
The course guides students through 14 sections, starting with some fundamental Approach Control concepts (e.g. a high-level overview of the principles of separation) and moving on to Altimetry and Meteorology, Navigation, Approach Control Principles, Equipment and Systems, Identification, Validation, and Verification, Appreciation of Aircraft Performance, Separation Standards, Applying and Maintaining Separation, Coordination, Holding, Sequencing and Vectoring Traffic, Control of Departing Aircraft, and Providing UK Flight Information Services (UKFIS). It’s designed to be a useful resource for any VATSIM UK radar controller, experienced S3s and brand-new students alike; each section consists of a series of short lessons available at any time, making it quick and easy to find the information you need!
Like its S2 counterpart, this course represents the collective efforts of a huge team of mentors and instructors over the last few years - too many to list by name. Thank you to everyone who’s donated their time, knowledge, and expertise to its development! As with any resource that is produced, if people notice inaccuracies or think that we could do something better, then please let us know!
