ATC TD - Autumnal Updates
With so much going on over the last few months and with so much fantastic change coming, it's time for an update on what has actually been happening 'behind the scenes' and what is to come...
OBS-S1 Program
First of all some stats from the last 2 months:
Number of OBS-S1s attending a Group OBS session: 98
Number of students from those Group sessions subsequently achieving their S1s to date: 47
Just for perspective - that's pretty much the same number trained in the 8 months preceeding!!
Total number of Group OBS attended in 2016: 178
Total number of S1s achieved in 2016: 99
All of this being simply testament to the dedication and support of our mentors throughout the Division. Since early September 2016 we have been running Group OBS sessions more often and with more spaces. We have also taken on board more Group OBS mentors as well as recruiting more OBS mentors for the One-to-one sessions. It is down to these wonderful people's hard work that we have nearly 50 new S1s joining our ranks in the last 2 months! Of course we can't rest, but if we continue with the great progress achieved in the last 2 months we aim to have no waiting list for OBS this time next year.
General Training Update
So January - end of November 2015 - we conducted 1834 mentoring sessions as a Division.
This January - end of November 2016 - we conducted 1869 mentoring sessions - an increase of 35 on last year which is remarkable considering we had a 20% drop this summer compared to last year. May I say a big well done and thank you to all those who give up their time to mentor and pass on their skills to the next generation!
Exams
We have achieved the following Exam passes to date this year (2016):
TWR - 26
APP - 8
CTR - 0
January - December (2015)
TWR - 33
APP - 6
CTR - 4
Very positive to see an increase in APP passes this year but a clear slowdown in CTR and TWR passes which we are hoping to address with our new policies and strategy going forward.
I will be revealing more developments throughout this week to further update everyone on the direction the Division is taking to further improve training and the overall training experience we deliver.
Please feel free to post any helpful feedback on any of the relevant posts to come.
