Dear All,

The Training Department is looking to bring on board a number of new members to the ATC Training Team. We are looking to welcome two new Training Group Instructors (TGIs) to the team, one for each Training Group and expand our team of Division Instructors (DIs). Please find below a summarised list of responsibilities and requirements for each role.

Training Group Instructor (TGI)

Responsibilities:

  • Have overall responsibility for training within their designated group;
  • Select and train new mentors through an ‘OTS’ check;
  • Review ATC feedback submitted by pilots;
  • Maintain training standards in their designated group (inc. by ‘sitting in’ on exams);
  • Organise group seminars as appropriate;
  • Issue SxVs;
  • Forward students for examination;
  • Work with TG Managers to determine the capacity available for students;
  • Are the point of contact for mentors within their designated group;
  • Work with the Operations department to produce and review documentation as required;
  • Maintain eLearning courses associated with their designated group.

The candidate must:

  • Have experience mentoring within the division (ATC or Pilot);
  • Be a home member of VATSIM UK in good standing;
  • Able to commit a minimum of 7 hours per week to the role;
  • Hold a minimum controller rating of S3;

Division Instructor (DI)

Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for ATC staff on training issues;
  • Assist TG Instructors as requested;
  • Work on long-term projects as requested by the Director of Training/General Manager;
  • Review ATC feedback submitted by pilots;
  • Maintaining training and examination standards;
  • Work with the Operations department to produce and review documentation as required.

The candidate must:

  • Have experience mentoring within the division (ATC or Pilot);
  • Be a home member of VATSIM UK in good standing;
  • Hold a minimum controller rating of C1.

The successful candidates will receive training and support on how to use our systems.
