Hi All,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you all of my decision to step down from the role of ATC Training Director and away from VATSIM for the foreseeable future. This has not been an easy decision to make, but I believe that it is in the best interests of both myself and the division.

For all you conspiracy theorists out there, I know we all love a good scandal on VATSIM and we love to speculate who got hacked off or which part of collective responsibility got violated this time... Well, sorry to disappoint, but there's no scandal or "staff cover-up" to be found! It was a personal decision made by me, for me, and for me alone. I can also confirm that I have not received any cheques for large sums of money to sell my services to some other network...

I'm very proud of what we've all achieved as a department in the past ten months; becoming more transparent, the new syllabi, the push towards self-learning, opening up new controlling opportunities and also the amazing exam pass-rate. Naturally, none of this could have been achieved without you, the membership. All of you, students, mentors and staff, should be incredibly proud of what you've achieved and will continue to achieve. Thank you to everyone for your ideas, feedback and for challenging the way we operate every day and driving us forward to a better place.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff that I have had the pleasure of working alongside for the past three years. In particular I'd like to thank everyone in ATC during my tenure as VATUK5 - you made the job enjoyable and put an immense amount of time and effort into improving the department. You guys honestly don't get nearly enough thanks for the time and effort you put into making this division and network fun for everyone so, from me, THANK YOU.

I hope to return some day, however, it remains to be seen when that will be.

Shalom to you all *throws dinner plate*,

Andy

Thank you for everything you've done for VATSIM UK, Andy! Its training department truly wouldn't be at the standard it is at today without your initiatives and ideas. Enjoy retirement! ?
