Hi folks,

First of all, a big thank you to Adam for all of the fantastic progress he made as ATC TD - I hope to build on the great work we started together and see it through to fruition.

Secondly, regardless of past confusion or posts - Central Training is still going ahead.

In the coming months I am keen to update the membership regularly on the CTIB's (Central Training Implementation Board) progress on delivering CT in its various phases. We will be rolling it out in phases for each rating with the OBS-S1 phase first to be released and more information on that will be forthcoming once it becomes closer to completion.

We need to be realistic in what we can achieve given the variables of time and resources (contributors/content writers etc). I want us to be a Division where the members enjoy learning here, the mentors enjoy mentoring here and the general membership embraces the philosophy of 'one team controlling' - Not just traffic chasing and scooping up the most amount of workable traffic, but enjoying working/sharing the traffic and coordinating with other controllers - just like they do in the real world. Neither flying or controlling are fiercely independent 'solo' jobs - pilots and controllers have to work together to get the job done - so why can't we enjoy doing this too?

Thirdly, this is a big project and the more people contribute the quicker we can get it running so why not get stuck in, volunteer to help write content for our theory courses, volunteer as a mentor or suggest ways we can improve. We need less negativity and moaning and more constructive and positive feedback, which in turn will provide more encouragement to improve things.

So for now, we are working on making what we already have work as efficiently as possible, we are getting more mentors on board, more support staff (RTSMs/LMs), reducing the red tape and admin processes, getting more OBS-S1s through so they can get connected as DEL and GND controllers and in the background making a real effort to deliver the first phases of CT. I want to thank everyone who has made a contribution to the Division in terms of mentoring or content provision - your efforts are genuinely appreciated!
