It's time for something a little bit different...

VATSIM UK and the Emirates vACC are teaming up in preparation for the final Formula 1 Grand Prix of 2019 - we're proud the present 'The Pit Stop'! The event will be taking place on Saturday the 23rd of November, departing East Midlands Airport (EGNX) at 1000z and arriving into Abu Dhabi International Airport (OMAA) hopefully no later than 1800z.

East Midlands Airport has the largest cargo terminal in the whole country, as well as being the UK hub for DHL, TNT, UPS, and the Royal Mail. East Midlands processes over 365,000 tonnes of cargo each year, but the cargo you'll be taking isn't just letters and parcels! You'll be transporting millions of pounds worth of F1 cars, tools, and equipment to Abu Dhabi in time for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place the following weekend.

This event is the perfect time to try out Orbx's recently released scenery for East Midlands, with full ATC on the new codec! You'll be flying through the sunset and flying into Abu Dhabi at night; allowing you to catch the Yas Marina circuit and its multicoloured hotel lit up in the darkness. We hope to see plenty of you joining us!

      Ello ello,

The evenings are getting darker and darker, and Christmas is fast approaching, however before we start jetting off North to see Santa we wanted to bring you one last holiday by the sea. We're excited to announce our second event of November: the Liverpool - Palma de Mallorca City Pair! Whilst summer temperatures in Mallorca can peak at over 31 degrees, you certainly can't expect to be seeing temperatures anywhere near this halfway through November! You'll probably need that engine anti-ice as you transport your holidaymakers and stag/hen parties to and from the Balearic Island's Capital. Expect (typical) cloudy, rainy conditions at Liverpool, and challenging gusty winds at Palma. Naturally the highlight of the event will be the professional ATC provided by the Brits and the Spaniards - what could possibly go wrong?
This event is the perfect time to try out the new Liverpool scenery for P3D, or perhaps test out the new PMDG 737? Either way, we expect to see plenty of you joining us on the 17th of November, between 1700z-2000z!

Controllers please note this will be a rostered event, the expression of interest is here.

“Een vliegende vogel heeft altijd meer dan een zittende!”
A flying bird always has more than a sitting one
With this Dutch phrase we invite all fellow VATSIM pilots to the Amsterdam-Munich City Pair. On an area of 4500 ha every year more than 115 million passengers and more than 2 million tons of cargo are brought into the air and safely back to the ground by round about 100.000 people working on these two airports. These big numbers are operated on 1.413.105 sq.m. of runways.
Together with you we want to bring these numbers alive and make the fascination behind them noticeable.
All relevant stations will be manned from 1800z – 2130z between Amsterdam and Munich.
So, get your birds back on track!
      All facts at a glance:
      When? 16NOV19 – 1800 until 2130 UTC
