Harry Sugden
Alternative sector ownership setup, when you are not the active controller Mentoring (or Examining) TWR/APP As long as you are using a correct mentoring callsign, once logged on: Go to OTHER SET -> Sector ownership setup... At the bottom of the window, the 'Change ownership' will look like this: Press 'Select All' - at this point, most people PC's will look like EuroScope is crashing... give it a moment (i.e. don't touch anything else) and it will sort itself out! Eventually, the little dropdown indicator will turn black and look like this: Click 'Mentoring TWR/APP' Then press OK! Mentoring (or Examining) CTR Follow the same process as above, except you should select the 'Observing XXX' according to which sector you wish to take ownership of. Observing a CTR sector Ensure that in your .ese file (located in UK\Data\Sector), you have set the observer callsign correctly. Note that this will only work for observer callsigns in the format XX_OBS. Mine is: HS_OBS::199.998:O:O:HS:OBS:-:-: Though, if you manage to spot the format, you will release that this would work also: AB_INS::199.998:O:O:AB:INS:-:-: Then follow the same process as above, again selecting an 'Observing XXX' according to which sector you wish to take ownership of. (Note that these changes only ever apply on your own instance of EuroScope, so it won't affect anyone else's setup or controller ownership) Edited January 23, 2019 by Harry Sugden Kye Taylor, Jonas Hey, Fraser Cooper and 2 others

Alex Toff
Not exactly a trick, but I would recommend an alias to quickly send the airport info/charts: .charts Please ensure you are using up-to-date charts. Jim Johnson
1 hour ago, Harry Sugden said: I didn’t know such a thing existed? A VATSIM UK document, is this? Hi Harry I received a four page list of eurosope cmds ( vatsim supplied!) a few years ago. Many of the commands are in the euroscope manual, section 4. 'Working with the keyboard' and a search of the internet gives examples of other attempting to produce a 'cheat' sheet. I can email you my list of commands if they are of interest? Adam Turner
At the request of @James Clarke, I spent some time creating an alternative symbol for VORs in Euroscope to match the symbol shown on charts and to match this screenshot of a RW display: https://gyazo.com/cb09475a6eebe9b4be12c426cbe062de. In ES they look like this: If you like the look, open other SET > symbology settings and in the dropdown menu on the right hand side select VOR and replace the existing symbol definition with the following: MOVETO -7 0 LINETO -3 6 LINETO 3 6 LINETO 7 0 LINETO 3 -6 LINETO -4 -6 LINETO -7 0 LINETO -7 6 LINETO 7 6 LINETO 7 -6 LINETO -7 -6 LINETO -7 0 POLYGON -1 1 1 1 1 -1 -1 -1 Harry Cameron, George Peppard, James Clarke and 2 others
John Pettit
Been away a bit (!) from controlling - how do I show VOR/NDB frequencies? The 'old' way via <Other Set> then <VOR> or <NDB> then ticking the boxes doesn't seem to work anymore even though the boxes are still there. Also, how do I add taxiway stop-bar names to my ground-scope display? Edited April 23, 2020 by John Pettit additional query
Alexis Otto
A colleague of mine mentioned to have seen the possibility to clear a tag when you release (thus, not handing it off) of the scratchpad and temporary FL. Is this an option (or was it)?
Robert Terrace
If I remember, it should be INSERT when on the scratchpad.
Tom Moseley
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post but can anyone post a guide to updating sector files in Euroscpope, as every time there is an AIRAC cycle change I struggle to do it without making a mess of my settings
Stuart Duncan
Hi Tom, ES can update your sector files automatically. I've never really got on well with that, probably due to my custom setup. Although it did automatically upgrade 2210 to 2210a for me without issue. I'm sure someone will be along soon to explain how to do this. I always do it manually. Download the latest sector files from here. Extract and copy/paste the .sct, .ese and .rwy files to Documents\EuroScope\UK\Data\Sector. Then delete your older sct, ese and rwy files. When you launch EuroScope, you'll get an error saying sct file not found, do you want to............., click no, then select your new .sct file. Remember to save when you exit ES again. I also update my datafiles with every new cycle. I use the German download from here (sometimes takes a day or two for the new cycles to be published). Download the EDGG full package. ICAO_Airlines/Aircraft/Airports can be found in EDGG-Full-Package_20221007165358-221001-0004\EDGG\ICAO and airway/icao/isec can be found in EDGG-Full-Package_20221007165358-221001-0004\EDGG\NavData. Copy, paste and overwrite. Hope that helps. Edited November 1, 2022 by Stuart Duncan
