real world [RESIGNATION] Jamie Paine

Jamie Paine

Evening all,

After careful consideration, I have resigned as a TGI in TG1. I joined the team in August 2017 and have witnessed exceptional changes to the training in terms of more sessions, more exams passes. TG1 has grown a lot and achieved more than I could have ever imagined. It has now come to the time where I feel it would be a good time for me to step down from the role and hopefully my role will be given to someone that can inject the enthusiasm into TG1 further.

Thank you to all the mentors who have worked tirelessly during my tenure as a TGI, the excellent results we have seen would not have been possible without you guys.

I will be staying around so I can enjoying some time controlling and socialising more with you lot.

J🙂

Jamie,

It’s been fun working alongside you as a mentor and especially as a student throughout my S1-S3.

Thanks for all the fun and hardwork you put into TG1, all the best with your future.

You’ve been well and truly remarkable.

Louie

Jonas Hey

Jamie,

Another colossal loss to the ATC Trainig Department, too many amazing people being lost recently.

Working alongside you has been the best pleasure during my time as a TGI and through inter TG collaboration we and everyone else have been able to achieve great things.

You are going to be missed greatly and I wish you all the best with your future.

Jamie, it certainly seems like a long time ago since you conducted my first S3 session!

Thank you for the time that you have given to the ATD, and I hope that you enjoy university.

Four-and-a-half years since I showed you how to sign-up for S1 training!

You've been an asset to your team, and deserve strong credit for the results it has achieved - namely the phenomenal reduction in waiting times across the board, all the while keeping standards high. Hopefully now you can focus on maintaining your actual Instagram page rather than using VATSIM UK's Slack as a substitute 😉!

All the Best!

Jamie your work towards helping many like myself getting through the trainings, even through times like now where I hardly have any time has been exceptional. Your time and dedication that you've put in to TG1 has been encouraging, even for me!

I wish you the best of luck in future and health and I hope to join you soon with flying sometime 🙂

All the best,

Big Shaq

Again, you have made a massive difference to the TG and great to see the waiting lists as low as they are.

Hopefully you'll get a bit more time to control now

Well done!

Jamie, although I haven't worked alongside you long, it is very clear that you were, and hopefully still will be a key player within the ATC training team. Please don't be a stranger and feel free to poke your nose in where you want!

      Dear All,
After careful consideration, this evening I have resigned from the Web Services Department. As of the past 6 months, my availability has severely decreased due to increased work commitments; therefore, it is no longer feasible for me to hold a role which I am unable to commit to fully. I hope that now in my (little!) spare time, I will have some time to fly and control.
It has been a pleasure working within Web Services, and I would especially like to thank @Calum Towers for playing such a big part in helping me to further my knowledge.
      Thanks,
      Matt.

      Dear All

At 2am on Sunday 28th October 2018, the clocks will revert back to GMT - so 2am will immediately become 1am.

      What does this mean?
You get the hour in bed back that was stolen in the spring; George Wright (the chap responsible for all of your atc exams #worrying) will not have a clue what is what; AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - all of your availability in the RTS system will need to reflect GMT from the above date/time: 18:30z is now 6.30pm local
      19:30z = 7.30pm local
      21:30z = 9.30pm local
      12:00z = 12pm (midday local)
      00:00z = 12am (midnight local)
      Many thanks
      Barrie

Partly because it actually deserves a "well done", but mostly because this will embarrass him to no end...
Please join me in congratulating @Alex Toff who passed his PPL (A) skills test today!
Apparently he even dealt with a gust of wind and a runway change... Not that he complained about that... At all...

      actual photo; captured
      during the skills test...

For anyone who's interested: someone's decided to dig up taxiway A again at Heathrow:
      1. http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-620F84DD8C75F340243FBD5CD34BFE5D/7FE5QZZF3FXUS/EN/SUP/NON_AIRAC/020-2018/EG_SUP_2018_020_en_2018-05-10.pdf - urgent reconstruction of the taxiway means bit of A near the A9/A10 areas are closed in periods over the course of the next 9 months
      2. Exit A5 and taxiway A around it is getting closed at some point next month (June 21st roughly; AIRAC 1807)
