Web Services Directors

With Ant leaving his position on the DSG I have been thinking on how best our web services should be managed.

The work that the Web Services Department do for the Division has grown and grown over the past  18 months.  We are also part of the way through some major changes both to pilot and atc training as well as the move over to core.

I have decided that it would best serve the Division if we split Web Services into two departments each with its own focus to help us with the changes we have ongoing.

Web Systems Director

Neil Farrington will be joining the DSG as Web Systems Director.  As the title suggests Neil will be in charge of all systems and will lead on development.  I have asked Neil to manage the move over to CORE.  Neil will also be looking at what we can do to upgrade our systems.

Web Support Director

Calum Towers will be joining the DSG as Web Support Director.  Calum will lead on the day to day running of the web services and what comes in via tickets.  Calum will be in interface with the DSG on any new projects and will manage these from concept to market from a web perspective.

I would like to congratulate both Neil and Calum on their new roles and welcome them to the DSG.

Finally, thanks again to Ant for his years of tireless service and hard work and most importantly friendship.

Congratulations, both! Your knowledge, skills, and dedication were evident when you were working as part of my team and I'm incredibly happy that you've both been recognised for your efforts and given the opportunity to enhance the web services provision even further!

I look forward to seeing some fantastic work ahead!

I look forward to working with you both. Calum; if this means that we are going to talk more, then, well... this should be fun! ;)

If we must

On a serious note, congrats guys. Ant has big boots to feel but I feel under your leadership we are in safe hands.

Maybe doing posts at 5AM is not such a good idea. I will try again - Ant has left some big boots to fill.
