ATC Training Staff Changes

Hi everyone,

Following our recent recruitment I'm happy to announce that @John Batten has accepted my offer to take up the New Controller Training Group Instructor role. I look forward to working with John in developing the existing training system and improving the experience that new members get when signing up for ATC Training in our division.

Unfortunately we are also saying goodbye to some other members of our team. @Fergus Walsh (Heathrow TG Instructor), @William Jennings (APP TG Instructor) and @Charlie Watson (Enroute TG Instructor) are all leaving the team.

Fergus leaves us having most recently destroyed the waiting lists at Heathrow during one of the busiest periods that we have ever had, and possibly ever will have, and previously transforming TGNC into the system we have today. Fergus, your contributions over the years have had an effect on hundreds of peoples experience on the network and hopefully your retirement will help you rediscover your own enjoyment of the network. You can read his own resignation post here.

Will leaves us to move to another continent and go and fly planes in the sun. Will has offered to continue in his role while we recruit a new member into the team. The fact that you've completed over 200 mentoring sessions in the TG in the last couple of years while writing a Moodle course (among other projects) and running a TG shows quite how hard replacing you will be.

Charlie has been balancing work commitments with developing the C1 Moodle for a while. Having tried to leave us when he started the job he was dragged back in by the opportunity to write some more training resources. As the C1 Moodle nears completion and real world commitments continue to limit his time for the network he has decided to step away from his role.

We are now recruiting for members to join the ATC Training team as in the Approach Training Group Instructor and Division Instructor roles. More details on this can be found in this post.

Finally I'd like to thank all three for their time within the roles and look forward to finding out how you get on with your individual endeavours away from the network.

Thanks,
Adam
